Erzulie Dantor altar bottle (SOLD)

La Sirene altar bottle at bonanza and ebay

Handmade, one of a kind devotional altar item for La Sirene. Item is mixed media: glass, sequins, paint, fabric, thread, resin, and/or metal, hand crafted here at Karma Zain's ritual workshop.

This particular piece was made by my friend and colleague Mari, a fellow rootworker, serviteur of the loa, and initiate in African Traditional Religion, who came to help me out in the shop and learn some Louisiana and Alabama style hoodoo tricks to accompany her knowledge of Florida and east coast conjure.  Mari spent a week here helping me in the shop, collaborating on some formulas, and teaching me a few things from southern Florida.  Then she sat down to make some altar bottles and jewelry with some of the supplies I have stocked and gathered, since I hardly have time anymore.

As with all the ritual art and spiritual jewelry you see here at Karma Zain Spiritual Supplies, this piece was handmade in an appropriate ritual setting, and it will reside on my La Sirene altar until it finds its new home with a devotee of the loa.

Bottle is app. 11" tall with a metal cap that unscrews.

Santisima Muerte rosary at ebay (one left right now -- three of Mari's already sold -- but more can be made)

This Santisima Muerte rosary necklace is made from a repurposed rosary with black 8mm faceted, molded resin beads, so while it looks heavy and substantial, it's lightweight enough to wear without hurting yourself.  The pendant is hand-painted in black enamel with gold and white details.  The center is painted with a black hood and red halo.  This piece will reside on my Santisima Muerte altar until it finds its new home.

This medal was part of my last order from the late E. Bryant Holman, proprietor of Fausto's Art Gallery and author of La Santisima Muerte: A Mexican Folk Saint; he was also the owner of the curanderismo yahoo list, which unfortunately devolved rapidly after his untimely death but was once a reliable source for researched information and lore, and which he held to uncompromising standards. He was my sole source for milagros and Santisima Muerte items for many years, which he had made by Mexican craftspeople for his shop in Mexico, and if you poke around my listings, livejournal and facebook photos, or flikr account, you might see some pieces he made himself, several of which reside on my altars.

This particular rosary was repurposed and painted by my friend and colleague Mari, a fellow rootworker and serviteur of the spirits, who came to help me out in the shop and learn some Louisiana and Alabama style hoodoo tricks to accompany her knowledge of Florida and east coast conjure.  Mari spent a week here helping me in the shop, collaborating on some formulas, and teaching me a few things from southern Florida.  Then she sat down to make some altar bottles and jewelry with some of the supplies I have stocked and gathered, since I hardly have time anymore.  She hand-painted the medal and center and clear coated it, and it now resides on my altar.

Please note: if you prefer your Santisima Muerte medal painted in a different color scheme, I can hook you up - it's a simple matter to change this medal for another with a matching centerpiece.  Just please allow me ten business days to paint and clear coat your medal and center.  I can definitely do black, red, purple, green, blue, or pink, and if you have something else in mind I may be able to do that too but please write first to make sure.

Decade loop is app. 16 inches with ends held together.  Total length including center and pendant is app. 22.5" inches from end to end, with ends held together.  This is a long piece with a traditional number of beads for a Marian-style rosary (5 decades of ten beads each), and they're large beads, so this piece has substantial "presence" but is a lightweight piece that will fit over any head if you'd like to wear it as a necklace.

As with all my devotional and religious jewelry, this piece will reside on the appropriate altar in my temple space until it finds its new home.
